The latest installment in the historical action-adventure game franchise, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, features an open-world setting emphasizing stealth-based gameplay. After Desmond Miles is coerced into stabbing his friend, he lapses into a coma shortly afterward. After that, he returns to the Animus to preserve his consciousness. After entering the Animus, he finds himself in what is commonly referred to as the Black Room. He hopes to piece together the shattered pieces of his mind and emerge from his coma. He can do this by linking his mind togethentifying a crucial memory. As he moves forward with that plan, he begins to experience flashbacks to later moments with Ezio. After successfully removing the Templar menace from Italy, the new Grand Master of the Assassin Order reflects on his life as an assassin. He wonders what his path in life would have been like if he had never joined the order. As a result, Ezio decides to make the journey to Masyaf, the homeland of his ancestor, only to find that the Templars have taken it over. There, he unearths a historical relic that has been hidden and can only be accessed using one of five different keys. The search for these seals leads him to Constantinople, where he learns that an army of Templars is forming in the city and poses a threat to destabilize the surrounding area. For Ezio to arrive at self-discovery and enlightenment, he needs to proceed like Altar, his spiritual guide.

The gameplay is similar to how the series usually handles open worlds. However, this game features an innovation in the form of an item known as the hook blade. You can use this weapon to grasp foes and pull them in for a combo strike, or you can use it to zip-line around the city. Around a 30 percent increase in speed can be achieved when navigating the city with the hook blade. In addition to the hook blade, Enzio is equipped with hundreds of different types of bombs he has manufactured for the game. Capturing city districts from the Templars was another feature added to and built upon in this game. While taking control of a community feels like playing Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, the Templars will try to regain control. As part of his mission, Enzio must play a tower defense minigame in which he is tasked with defending the seized neighborhoods by commanding assassins perched atop rooftops against waves upon waves of Templar soldiers and siege weapons. The game may be played in 3D on all platforms, including the personal computer, the PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360. The game’s console versions can support stereoscopic 3D mode for 3D TVs and 2D mode for HDTVs. Both the gameplay and the cinematics in Revelations can be viewed in S3D.

There is also support for multiplayer. New characters and places are introduced in this mode, which builds upon the foundation laid by Brotherhood’s online methods. Players can personalize not just their appearance but also their weaponry; they may also form guilds and design their coats of arms. The process of matchmaking and the user interface have been refined. In addition, players advance in level when they play the multiplayer game, and each time they do so, they offer one rank higher in their Abstergo Templar order and receive access to further details regarding the company.

In addition to the multiplayer game modes that were already available, brand new ones, such as “story-oriented quests” and “Capture the Flag,” have been added. The island of Rhodes is the inspiration for a few multiplayer layouts. Deathmatch is one of the new additions, and it differs from the other modes in that there is not a compass pointing in the direction of a specific target; instead, there is a box on the top right of your screen where the current target is displayed. This model is one of the new additions. A blue glow emanates when the character is in direct visual contact with the target.
