Gadget Racers is a racing game from the Choro Q franchise. This game is a little bit different from the others. This game contains no RPG elements, with tracks and races selected through a menu system similar to that of a Gran Turismo title rather than by talking to other cars. The player begins by selecting one of six car bodies. Later, the other bodies and other variants can be purchased through the shop (bodies are purely cosmetic). Purchasing parts allows the player to upgrade their vehicle. Many features are standard for racing games (engines, tires, etc.), but some are more specialized, such as wings or skis. Money is earned by finishing races, and a bonus is added based on your position. Sprint, Grandprix, Engine Regulation, Endurance, Off-Road Regulation, Body Type Regulation, Parts Regulation, and Duel are available in game modes. Sprint races are simple and standard races with three levels of difficulty (Beginner, Intermediate, and Upper). Grand Prix requires licenses obtained from the Driving School; once received, the following GP options are available: Country GP GP Global Very Good GP Engine Regulation races are based on the horsepower of your engine and are divided into three classes (Light, Middle, and Heavy) Endurance races have more laps than standard races. Off-Road Regulations has only 5 tracks and tests players’ ability to handle off-road situations. The three grades available are Dirt Mini, Dirt Big, and Dirt HG. Body Type Regulation races are divided into eight styles based on the body type of the player’s vehicle. Regulation races are created with memorable parts in mind. Duel races pit the player against the computer in one-on-one competition.
