The series’ premise revolves around a Queen who wisely and fairly governs a Cosmos. With the aid of nine Guardians, she balances the elements to keep the planets within her domain stable and her people happy. The Queen’s and Guardians’ powers eventually fade, so it is necessary to appoint successors. The protagonist of the original game, as well as its many remakes, is Angelique Limoges, a 17-year old girl. She has been selected by Dia, the current Queen, and one of the two candidates from Royal Smallney Girls Academy to be the next Queen. To begin her final exam, she is taken to the Flying City.
